Relive the drama of City’s iconic win over Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
It was a year ago today that City beat the UEFA Champions League holders in front of a record Joie Stadium crowd.
An unforgettable night saw Naomi Layzell open the scoring with her first senior goal, firing home from a corner after meeting Vivianne Miedema’s knockdown at the far post.

Layzell then set up Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw in the second half as the City striker rounded Barcelona keeper Cata Coll and fire into an empty net.
It was a rare night when Barca were prevented from scoring with Ayaka Yamashita becoming only the second keeper in 80 matches to keep a clean sheet against the Catalan giants.
Caroline Graham Hansen did hit the post for the visitors as did City’s Lauren Hemp, but it was the Blues who ultimately came out on top on a fabulous European night.
