Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s family reportedly moves out of Milwaukee

Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo’s wife, Mariah, and their four young children have reportedly relocated permanently to Athens, Greece, leaving Milwaukee while Giannis remains with the team. “According to the ‘Grace’ column of ‘To Vima’, after months of discussions by the entire Antetokounmpo [clan], Mariah was asked if she preferred Milwaukee… or Athens, with the nod going to the Greek capital,” reported tovima.com.

The family has moved into a new, custom-built apartment complex in Paleo Psychiko’s diplomatic row, where separate units also house Antetokounmpo’s mother and brothers.

The couple’s two eldest, Liam Charles, five, and Maverick Shai, four, are said to have started attending an elite private kindergarten in the same district, while the two youngest, Eva, three, and infant Aria, settle into family life. The move follows months of family discussion and the couple’s 2024 marriage, and it appears driven by a desire to be closer to extended family and Greece’s familiar surroundings.

Antetokounmpo is already back in Milwaukee preparing for the coming NBA season after representing Greece at EuroBasket 2025, where the national team earned bronze. With his family based in Athens, the report adds he will “probably rely on webcam communication to see his family on a daily basis,” supplemented by flights between the U.S. and Greece whenever the NBA schedule permits. Mariah and the children are expected to return to Milwaukee for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

On trade chatter, elite stars like Antetokounmpo often spark rumors, but this report centers on family logistics rather than roster moves. The account stresses that the Greek Freak will remain in the U.S. to complete his season with the Bucks, making an immediate trade seem unlikely.
