The Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and Saquon Barkley meeting was business as usual, according to Hurts. The franchise quarterback and his colleagues made headlines with their "sit down" coming off the Eagles' loss to the Denver Broncos.
"It was just talking about the collective, about us taking ownership about what we can, and talking about how we move forward as a team so we can continue to find ways to win games."
Hurts and the Eagles working through their issues
Philly finds themselves in the midst of controversy between offensive struggles, Kevin Patullo's play calling, A.J. Brown's cryptic talks, and their loss to Denver, all to be followed up with the Hurts, Barkley, and Brown "sit down".
Hurts said the meeting was "just teammates being teammates," but with Hurts, Eagles fans shouldn't be surprised by his generic, tight-to-the-chest type of answers. In response to Brown's initial comments last week, Hurts mentioned that his only focus was "keeping focused on the main thing."
"I don't want to make this about that. We've got a short week, we've got a division opponent coming in here. I enjoyed every second of it and I'm enjoying every second of every opportunity to improve."
If anything was said in their meeting that may be taken out of line or out of context, Hurts isn't willing to share. With a record of 50-21 as the starting quarterback, Hurts remains stout on the ultimate goal of winning football games and another Super Bowl.

Based on that meeting, it appears that Hurts and Barkley may have served as mediators towards Brown about staying "on mission". Regardless of the statistics, the Eagles are still a 4-1 team, and while they are far from perfect, they remain in a position to contend for another title. The Eagles look to get back on track with their Thursday night matchup against the division rival New York Giants to open up Week 6 in the NFL.
