The current crop of Manchester United players looks the most professional since Sir Alex Ferguson’s days, but Gary Neville still needed his mind changed over one player.
Despite the results not being the greatest under Ruben Amorim, there have been no doubts over the commitment of the players.
Multiple players have gone on the record to show their backing for Ruben Amorim, something that previous managers couldn’t say about their squad at the time.
However, Gary Neville was still surprised to see one player up close after meeting him personally. He changed his mind.

Gary Neville opens up on meeting with Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes has always divided opinion at Old Trafford despite his unquestionable quality on the pitch.
His detractors say he’s often too emotional and reactive to stay as the Man Utd captain, while others say he leads by example.
Pundits like Roy Keane have doubted his credentials, while his teammates always back him to make a positive difference on and off the pitch.
Gary Neville, speaking on The Overlap, said his mind changed after meeting Fernandes recently.

He said: “I say Bruno [changed my mind after meeting him personally]. I met him for half an hour, and I thought it was fair to say that when people talk about him at the club, they say he’s a good type and he’s hardworking.
“He really looks after the staff, and that was the thing that impressed me most when the staff said he looked after the staff; he looks after people.”
Neville’s Fernandes revelation is not surprising
It is surprising that Neville needed his mind changed on how Fernandes treats people at Carrington, since that is one of the things that has never been in question.
One can question Fernandes’ suitability as a leader, but his presence as an ambassador for the club has always been immaculate.
There have been numerous instances of Fernandes going above and beyond to care for the people at the club, even if the club itself washes its hands off the responsibility.
From meeting former staff members after they’re let go by the club, or paying for the tickets of some when the club takes that privilege away, the proof is in the pudding.
Hopefully, that ends the questions in Neville’s mind over Fernandes’ personality. Just his on-pitch criticism is fine!
