Jordan Love expresses his excitement over wide receiver news before Packers-Bengals

The Green Bay Packers are set for a Week 6 showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals at Lambeau Field this coming Sunday after a long rest.

Coming off a bye in Week 5, Green Bay also got some encouraging news with Christian Watson having his 21-day practice window opened. Last Monday, he practiced for the first time in 274 days, or since he suffered a torn ACL injury during a Week 18 game last season against the Chicago Bears.

Once he gets the green light to see real NFL action again, Watson should have a significant role downfield for the Packers’ Jordan Love-led passing offense.

All things considered, Love has done an admirable job orchestrating the Packers’ passing attack despite not having 100 percent of his weapons healthy. Apart from Watson, Green Bay is also missing Jayden Reed, who is on the injured reserve.

But with Watson expected to be back within the next three weeks, excitement has started to build up for Love, who has 1,000 passing yards and eight touchdowns with just an interception through four games in the 2025 season.

“It’s amazing. Obviously, we’ve got another injury he had, and it’s tough. It’s a tough one to come back from, especially last game of the season last year,” Love said of Watson’s return to practice (h/t Ryan Wood of USA Today).

“But it’s been cool. We’ve all been seeing him every day, grinding through his rehab on the side and doing some great things. So I think just to have him out there, get some pads on, have him on, get some team reps out there is amazing. So we can’t wait to get him back out there.
