Everyone has their superstitions, and thankfully the New York Giants have not discovered one that actually gives the Philadelphia Eagles a major advantage in their Week 6 matchup.
Last year, the Eagles first went to MetLife Stadium to play the Giants, with a ton of hype surrounding the game since Saquon Barkley was returning to play his old team for the first time since leaving New York. Barkley made them pay big time with 17 carries for 176 yards and one touchdown as the Eagles blew out the Giants 28-3.
This was an important game for the Eagles as it was the first time in the 2024 season that they had blown out a team. It helped spark their run to the Super Bowl title.
What might not be known is that something happened at halftime, which will happen again on Thursday, making it easy to predict an Eagles win.
Who knew man's best friend would also be the Eagles' best friend?
During halftime of the Eagles-Giants game at MetLife Stadium last year, there was a Corgi Race. Cute and innocent, right? Not for the Giants.
It's happening all over again on Thursday as the Giants announced multiple aspects of the game. Those include the Latino Heritage Celebration and food trucks, light bands, and of course, the Corgi race.
Of course, this is all tongue in cheek, but maybe there's something to this? Maybe the Eagles have replaced the original "Giant Killer" Boston Scott with corgis. Who knows.
The more logical explanation is that the Eagles are simply better than the Giants. Philly has won seven of the last eight matchups against New York in the series.

Despite it being a short week and weird stuff always happening on Thursday night games, the Eagles should be able to take care of business, corgi race or not.
