Man City star set to leave club at end of season

Manchester City face Everton when the Premier League returns following the international break.

Pep Guardiola’s side have won their last two games in the competition, but only sit fifth in the top flight standings having lost two of their first three matches of the new campaign.

The Citizens are just three points behind leaders Arsenal, though, and Guardiola will hope to see his side keep up the pressure on the Gunners by beating the Toffees next time out.

In the meantime, though, it has emerged that City could be set to lose one of their most important players at the end of the current season.

As per GiveMeSport, midfielder Bernardo Silva is set to depart The Etihad at the end of the current campaign.

Silva, 31, joined City from French side Monaco in 2017 and has since played an integral role for the Manchester giants, making more than 400 appearances across all competitions.

The Portugal international’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, though, and the report suggests that he will depart The Etihad next summer.

The midfielder has been the subject of interest from clubs in the Saudi Arabian Pro League for some time now and, while the player himself would consider a move to the Middle East, the report suggests that he will also have other options available to him.

Silva is said to have already made up his mind about his future, but he hasn’t yet confirmed officially that he will depart City at the end of his contract.

Pro League sides Al Ahli and Al Qadsiah are both said to have explored the possibility of signing the Portuguese – who earns a staggering £375,000-per-week – recently.
