It feels like the Utah Jazz have been on the verge of blowing things up for a long time, but the team keeps trying again with the same roster.
At the center of it all is Lauri Markkanen, who is undoubtedly wanted by numerous teams.
However, Ben Anderson is reporting that Markkanen isn’t going anywhere.
“Despite reports today, I was told bluntly that the [Utah Jazz] aren’t trading Lauri Markkanen. While team needs change and everyone is available for the right price, I don’t get the sense that trading Lauri is a priority,” Anderson posted on X.

Markkanen has been desired by other franchises ever since he joined the Jazz.
During his three years in Utah, he has averaged 23.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.
Through it all, the Jazz have suffered and haven’t made a big impact in the Western Conference.
Because of that, people have wondered when the front office would decide to part ways with their biggest star to build something new.
But although there have been many rumors, they have never developed into anything concrete.
The rumors popped up again earlier this week, with some reporters stating that the Jazz are open to a potential deal.
Anderson says that isn’t the case, and Markkanen isn’t going anywhere.
With the Jazz expected to be one of the worst in the league this season, they have nothing but time.
They don’t have to race to make any big changes and can slowly and surely weigh their options and lay the groundwork for the future.
In the end, Markkanen might leave the Jazz, but they aren’t going to rush into anything and don’t have a reason to.
