The Sacramento Kings waived Dexter Dennis on Thursday, making their first cut since training camp began.
Dennis was a standout guard for the G League Stockton Kings last season.
The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists to help Stockton win its first G League championship last season. He scored 23 points in the last game of the G League finals against the Osceola Magic.
Dennis, 26, played for Wichita State and Texas A&M before going undrafted in 2023. He played for the G League Texas Legends and Cleveland Charge before joining the Stockton Kings a year ago.
Dennis did not play when the Kings opened preseason play with a 130-122 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
The Kings started training camp with 19 players, including three players on two-way contracts. Teams can have no more than 15 players on standard NBA contracts and three players on two-way contracts when the regular season begins.
