Just hours before the Philadelphia Eagles collide with the New York Giants, Philly drops some big news that was expected, but still equally exciting for fans.
The Eagles announced that linebacker Nakobe Dean has been activated from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. They also added that defensive tackle Gabe Hall has been activated
Dean has been on the IR since the beginning of the season due to a knee injury he suffered in the NFC Wild Card game last year against the Green Bay Packers. This will be his first game of the season, but most likely will be on the pitch count.
Hall is active for the first time since the Week 1 game against the Dallas Cowboys. He didn't record any stats as he was out on the field for nine snaps (five on defense and four on special teams).
Hall's elevation only means bad news coming for the Eagles
It's exciting to see Dean active and finally playing. He brings a balance of being great in pass coverage while stopping the run. Dean will help with the already deep linebacker position, thanks to the quick development of Jihaad Campbell.
This might be a mask of something bad coming for the Eagles: Hall being active only means Jalen Carter might be out of the game.
Carter randomly showed up on the injury report this week with a heel injury after also dealing with a shoulder injury throughout the season. He was listed as questionable for the game.
Eagles fans are now bracing for the news that Carter isn't going to play. It will mean Jordan Davis will have to step up and play the same role he did in the Cowboys game when his teammate was ejected. Moro Ojomo should get more snaps as well.

It remains to be seen whether Carter's injury means total disaster for the Eagles against a weaker Giants game. Not having him on the field will certainly make things more interesting.
