Jayson Tatum Posts Stunning Video Five Months After Achilles Tear

Boston Celtics fans continue to wait with bated breath for superstar Jayson Tatum’s return to action as he works his way back from his torn Achilles.

Tatum took to social media on Thursday afternoon with a 15 second video, showing him standing under a basket, jumping and completing a two-handed dunk.

This comes just under five months after the forward suffered his injury during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks on May 12.

“Must be the shoes,” Tatum posted on X, followed by an eyes and fire emoji.

The 27-year-old is wearing the new Jordan Tatum 4 basketball shoes in the video.

The shocking video comes as NBA insider Shams Charania reported on Thursday that the Celtics are “cautiously optimistic” that Tatum can return to the hardwood during the 2025-26 regular season.

Numerous insiders have predicted this fall that the six-time All-Star will make his comeback either in the late winter or early spring.

The Celtics (who haven’t missed the playoffs since the 2013-14 campaign) open their regular season vs. the Philadelphia 76ers on Oct. 22.
