Philadelphia Eagles: Elevate Former Big-12 Standout for TNF

The Philadelphia Eagles’ front seven could be shorthanded against the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football. Superstar defensive tackle Jalen Carter popped up on Wednesday’s injury report with a heel injury and was listed asquestionable. If he is unable to play tonight, the defense has only four interior defensive linemen on the 53-man roster, which is far from ideal given the importance of a rotational defensive line.

On X, the Eagles announced they have elevated Gabe Hall from the practice squad for gameday against the New York Giants. Whether or not Jalen Carter plays, elevating the former Baylor Bears standout will provide the defense with a safety blanket and much-needed depth. This will be Hall’s second gameday elevation, and he can be elevated one more time without penalty.

The Philadelphia Eagles signed Gabe Hall as an undrafted free agent in May 2024. He spent the entire rookie season on the practice squad after not surviving roster cuts. After initially making the 53-man roster, the Eagles released Hall to make room for Tank Bigsby, but later re-signed him to the practice squad. He played in Week 1 and failed to register a statistic across five defensive snaps.
