"Yeah, I mean, it can be toxic for sure. I mean, being on social media and seeing stuff," he said to reporters Wednesday. "But I mean, to me at the end of the day, I know who I am. And I know the amount of work that I put in, and I can live with myself and live with the results.

"And so I feel like if you're putting in the work, and you're doing whatever you can to leave everything on the football field, you can live with the results of a win, loss, or whatever anyone has to say. [Because] you know the type of effort that you're putting in every single day."

For his part, Jones owned up to his inaction and stated that particular moment was one for him learn from, especially as the Chiefs continue to struggle this season.

"That's a teaching point for me, a little adversity," he told reporters Thursday. "I can't think the play is over. You know what I mean? And it's a learning lesson, you know? Thought it was over, thought we had him down, so I kind of stopped, was about to celebrate, and then realized that he wasn't down, and, you know, a teaching lesson for me is don't stop, you know?"

He added that his teammates "understand" why he didn't react as Lawrence crossed the goal line. The star affirmed that his teammates he didn't "quit" on them, despite what the film showed.

When he watched the play in the days after the loss, Jones admitted that it was tough for him personally to decipher what had happened.

"I kind of grade myself different than everybody else grade me, so, for me, it was tough because it's like, 'Ah, I had the opportunity,' you know what I mean?" he continued. "And I just thought he was down, and, you know, it's my job not to think - It's my job to finish, and, you know, I'll be better at it."

Regarding why he deleted his social media, the 31-year-old stated he was not one to hang his head on what people say, instead using it to motivate himself and shared why he was no longer visible.

"I guess people want to address me head-on on social media, and they've seen my social media wasn't active, so they figure that I deleted it for that, but it was deleted a couple days before, you know?" Jones revealed. "And I don't mind constructive criticism, you know? I don't mind it."

Considering how social media can affect different people differently, Mahomes stated that if Jones wants to return, he could use the criticisms fans have as a way to push himself further. "And so stay off it as much as possible. And then if you are gonna be on, I would use it as motivation more than anything," he concluded.
