Bengals star receiver takes brutal shot at old quarterback

The Cincinnati Bengals made the shocking move to trade within the AFC North with the Cleveland Browns to acquire veteran quarterback Joe Flacco after it became clear that Jake Browning wasn’t the guy to replace Joe Burrow.

Flacco is 40 years old, which may as well be 70 in NFL years. Bengals’ star receiver didn’t pass on the opportunity to take a dig at his new quarterback, according to one prominent insider around the team.

“Tee Higgins said he told his teammates Joe Flacco was already in the NFL when they were getting in trouble for being outside when the streetlights came on,” [reported Jay Morrison of Bengalstalk.com.](https://x.com/ByJayMorrison/status/1976381044367687791)

Fans reacted to Higgins on social media.

“we would have been just as pumped if we were told our new QB was going to be Joe Namath. Can you imagine what Tee would have said to that?” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“The youngest Bengal, Shamar Stewart, was 4 when Flacco was drafted,” someone else noted.

“He was in the league when I was covering my middle school football team on the morning announcements,” another person added.

It’ll be interesting to see how Flacco does with the Bengals. If he can lead them to the playoffs in Burrow’s absence, he may even win Comeback Player of the Year with his second Ohio-based team.
