Timberwolves fall in overtime to Knicks in preseason

Mikal Bridges scored 15 points and the host New York Knicks beat the Timberwolves 100-95 in overtime in a preseason game Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.

Anthony Edwards scored 17 points to lead the Wolves but shot 6-for-17 from the floor, playing 27 minutes. Julius Randle added 16 points against his old team.

The Wolves, who led New York after each of the first three quarters, were outscored 27-19 by the Knicks in the fourth quarter. The Wolves’ Johnny Juzang tied the score at 90-90 with 9.9 seconds left, driving to the basket and dropping in a floater.

The Knicks couldn’t score before regulation ended, but they scored the first eight points of the extra period, getting three-pointers from Tosan Evbuomwan and Garrison Mathews while the Wolves missed their first four OT shots.

The Wolves have two more preseason games, including Monday home vs. a Chinese team, the Guangzhou Loong-Lions.
