Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the talk of the town in the NBA world recently. After an offseason during which a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks was expected, the Greek Freak has chosen to stay. However, it’s not a long-term commitment, as Giannis has made it clear that consistent championship contention is a must for him.
Antetokounmpo’s recent comments have hinted at a potential exit, maybe even before the trade deadline. The New York Knicks have been named as his preferred destination, although other options have also reportedly been considered. Charles Barkley isn’t a fan of this behavior, though, and recently called out the two-time MVP.

“You know, it’s interesting how these guys feel like they’re entitled to play for the championship every year,” Barkley said. “As a great player, you should feel like ‘I’m a great player, if I get any help, we’re going to win.’ You gotta give the Milwaukee Bucks credit, because I wish a person would love me as much as the Bucks love Giannis.

“They went out and got him, Damian Lillard. They went out and got him Myles Turner. They have done everything possible to try to make the Bucks win again, so the notion that he doesn’t feel like they’re doing everything in their power, they have done everything.”
Antetokounmpo is already an NBA champion and has won Finals MVP. This puts him in rare company when it comes to NBA history. However, if he truly wants to be remembered as one of the greatest ever, he does need more rings. If he does leave the Bucks, though, Barkley won’t be the only media figure criticizing the Greek Freak.
