The Philadelphia Eagles suffered just their second loss of the season on “Thursday Night Football,” bowing to the New York Giants in a one-sided 34-17 affair.
Philadelphia simply had no answer for rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo, who led the New York offense with their high-octane passing and ground game.
Dart threw for 195 yards and one touchdown on 17-of-25 pass completion. The Giants QB also ran 13 times for 58 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Skattebo, for his part, had three rushing touchdowns on 19 carries and 98 yards.
Jalen Hurts, meanwhile, went 24-of-33 in the passing game for one touchdown. He also rushed for one TD in a losing effort for the Eagles.

What stood out from the game, however, was Hurts’ intercepted pass in the fourth quarter. As the Eagles QB threw a short pass intended for Jahan Dotson, Giants cornerback Cor’Dale Flott jumped to steal it and ran for 68 yards the other way.
Not only was it Hurts’ first interception of the season, but it was also his first after 305 passes in the regular season, per the NFL.
The league called the streak “insanely impressive” despite it being snapped, but at the end of the day, the fact remains that the incredible passing run was over for Hurts.
It’s definitely a bad day for Hurts and the Eagles, who now dropped two straight games after losing to the Denver Broncos in Week 5. They are still atop the NFC East with a 4-2 record, but it’s a troubling trend for the reigning Super Bowl champions who only had three losses last campaign.
The Eagles will have a chance to bounce back in Week 7 when they play the Minnesota Vikings. It should be a good opportunity for Hurts to start a new flawless passing streak as well.
