Chelsea’s first-team player was left angry with a tactical decision from Enzo Maresca in a recent match.
Blues head coach Enzo Maresca, 45, certainly has credit in the bank for all the work he’s done during his first 15 months in charge. He’s certainly not had it all his own way, too.
Chelsea’s injuries are piling up in the 2025-26 season, including the ongoing groin problem for talisman Cole Palmer. Apparently, Palmer’s current injury will mean he misses the next four matches after October’s international break.
Even so, the dramatic late win over Liverpool in the Premier League last weekend injected huge positivity into the fanbase at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca has left Marc Guiu frustrated
It has been quite a turbulent campaign so far for Marc Guiu. The 19-year-old striker initially joined Premier League rivals Sunderland on loan, but he was recalled by Chelsea late in the summer window after Liam Delap’s injury.
He’s largely watched from the Blues bench since returning to Stamford Bridge. Finally, he received a late cameo in the Liverpool win last weekend.
According to GiveMeSport, Guiu is already eyeing a January return to Sunderland on loan

It is explained that the Spanish youngster is becoming fed up with his lack of minutes. Apparently, he was ‘particularly frustrated’ that he didn’t get on the pitch for the Champions League match against Benfica on 30 September, but young winger Tyrique George did.
The report adds that Chelsea want to keep Guiu for the entire season now because they see real potential in him.
The rules state that players can only feature for two clubs per season. As a result, Sunderland would be his only alternative if the Blues soften their stance and allow him to exit in the New Year.

Marc Guiu needs minutes after international break
At the moment, Guiu is with Spain’s Under-21s side for a couple of matches. Hopefully, the talented attacker can get some valuable minutes into his legs because he’s been starved of competitive action.
We’re optimistic that he will finally get some decent minutes for Chelsea after the international break, largely because Maresca’s side need to navigate their way through a hectic schedule.
It is impossible for Joao Pedro to play every single minute, so when he’s not on the pitch we want to see Guiu leading the line. Even if the teenager is still a little raw around the edges, he’s got great physical attributes and scored regularly in the Conference League last season.
