Manchester United loanee Rasmus Hojlund was on target twice for Denmark on Wednesday night, earning rave reviews as his performances continue to improve since joining Napoli on loan.
Denmark recorded a comfortable win over Belarus in what was arguably Rasmus Hojlund’s best performance for his country.
The 22-year-old scored two goals in the first half and provided the assist for United wing-back Patrick Dorgu to make it 4-0.
These weren’t the only two Denmark players with a United connection on the pitch as midfield veteran Christian Eriksen, who left Old Trafford in the summer, came off the bench with Denmark going on to win 6-0.
A lot of the focus after the match was on Hojlund and how he has improved this season, despite being sent on loan by United amid poor form.

Brian Riemer impressed by Rasmus Hojlund
After joining Napoli on deadline day on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, Hojlund has earned Antonio Conte’s trust.
Hojlund has rediscovered his form in Italy, and it raises further questions about why Erik ten Hag or Ruben Amorim were unable to get more out of the Danish striker.
Perhaps the pressure of playing for United got to Hojlund, and that is why he crumbled, but it’s still positive to see him scoring goals.

Speaking to the press on Thursday night, Denmark boss Brian Riemer reflected on Hojlund’s performance and highlighted the key improvements he has seen in the striker against Belarus.
Riemer referenced how Hojlund is playing with more confidence after a promising start at Napoli.
“He is full of self-confidence again, and that’s the fun thing about football,” Riemer said, as quoted by Bold.
“How much self-confidence means. It’s the same Rasmus Hojlund we’ve had in the other sessions, but now he’s bursting with self-confidence. He rests in himself, and then he’s not fun to play against.”
Rasmus Hojlund hailed after Patrick Dorgu assist
It was also a great night for Dorgu to get on the scoresheet for Denmark.
The former Lecce wing-back scored his second goal for his country on Thursday night, with Hojlund responsible for the assist.
United fans would like to see him make more goal contributions in Premier League matches when he returns from international duty.
Riemer commented on Hojlund being a team player when he’s at his best.
“That says it all. He’s a team player, and that says something about the mission the team is on.”
All of this will be music to the ears of Conte as Napoli aim to defend the Serie A title this season.
