Robbie Fowler says he’s seen an ‘amazing’ stat about Everton that’s ‘unbelievable’

Everton ended the last period of games before the international break with a bang by defeating Crystal Palace, and a statistic from that game has amazed Robbie Fowler.

David Moyes’ side ended Crystal Palace’s 19-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, which included winning the FA Cup and Community Shield.

The Toffees had to rally together after going behind against Oliver Glasner’s men with an Iliman Ndiaye penalty, and a last-minute Jack Grealish goal securing the 2-1 win.

Grealish opened his account for Everton in that game to continue his impressive start to the season. It also continued the club’s unique record against Glasner.

Robbie Fowler was left impressed by Everton’s stat against Crystal Palace

Glasner has been one of the most impressive managers in the Premier League since he joined Crystal Palace, with teams struggling to pick up results against the Eagles under his leadership.

It’s one reason Manchester United are monitoring him as a potential Ruben Amorim replacement, but Everton have built an impressive record against him.

During the latest episode of The Added Time Podcast, Robbie Fowler spoke about what he’s learned, and was stunned by how Everton have fought back against Crystal Palace multiple times.

“One of the stats that I found amazing, I mean, Palace have only lost twice since Glasner has been manager, after being up at half time, both of them have been against Everton.

“One at Goodison and one at the Hill Dickinson. So, that is, I mean that’s an unbelievable stat, isn’t it?”

The statistic showcases Everton’s ability to fight back in games regardless of the scoreline, which is an attitude that will benefit the team throughout the season.

Unfortunately for the Toffees, they now have a while to wait before they play Crystal Palace again, as they will meet at Selhurst Park on May 9th.

David Moyes’ controversial substitutions might have been the difference

Moyes decided to make two substitutions at half-time against Crystal Palace that could have been the difference-maker on the day.

The Scotsman opted to bring Thierno Barry and Tyler Dibling off during the break, which led to furious backlash from Everton supporters.

However, the changes positively impacted the game from an Everton perspective, with the team growing into the game from that point onward.
