Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil side were super impressive in their win against South Korea on Friday, and Chelsea’s Estevao Willian certainly contributed to the result.
On Friday, Brazil recorded a comprehensive 5-0 victory over South Korea in an international friendly. Chelsea supporters will be delighted to see that Estevao Willian was integral.
During his eighth cap for Brazil, the 18-year-old right-winger scored in each half to underline his obvious potential.
The Blues attacker latched on to a Bruno Guimaraes pass before finishing for the opener. Meanwhile, his second goal was a piece of individual brilliance, stealing back possession for his side and producing a calm low finish.
Estevao again! 😍

Carlo Ancelotti reacts to Estevao Willian display
After Brazil’s emphatic win against South Korea, Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti did praise Chelsea’s Estevao as part of his assessment.
Ancelotti told Globo: “I’m very pleased with the team’s performance. Obviously, if you lay a strong foundation, with a solid defensive team, individual quality up front shines through. The team performed very well, because Rodrygo played a very good game, and so did Estevao. Up front, the team has a lot of variety, a lot of attacking solutions, and today we took advantage of the individual quality of these players…

“The key to the game was the first goal, because Korea started out trying to defend with a medium block, putting pressure on our defence. Estevao’s first goal opened up Korea’s defence a bit, and then we had more control of the game in attack.”

Enzo Maresca take note
If Estevao is ready to start and shine for Brazil, whose football heritage means the expectation is always extremely high, he’s capable of delivering the goods for Chelsea on a consistent basis.
Even though he’s made nine appearances for the Blues this season, scoring once and assisting once, he’s still yet to complete 90 minutes. It is quite evident that head coach Enzo Maresca has opted to integrate him at a steady pace.
However, it is surely becoming impossible to overlook the Brazilian talent because he makes things happen when he’s on the football pitch.
Estevao has praised his relationship with Maresca, and we understand the approach so far. After the international break, he should be fully let loose in Chelsea colours.
