Liverpool have set their sights on three additions ahead of the next two transfer windows, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
Writing on his X account, Plettenberg revealed that Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi and Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano are very much on the club’s radar.
While sources in the UK have not mentioned the Reds’ interest in Upamecano up until now, Plettenberg is the second prominent German journalist to link the defender, along with Bild ‘s Christian Falk.

However, in addition to the two centre-backs, Plettenberg claims sporting director Richard Hughes is also “still searching for a top winger”.
Will Liverpool sign both Guehi and Upamecano?
While Plettenberg simply says that the pair are “among the candidates” for the centre-back position, there is a decent chance that both will be pursued if Ibrahima Konate does leave Anfield at the end of the season.
Guehi was already a target in the summer, so the pursuit of the England international does not appear to be dependent on any player departing the club.
Upamecano, meanwhile, could be signed on a free next year when his contract expires, and the fact that a transfer fee will not need to be paid would make him a strong contender to replace Konate, who could also move for free.
Which winger could be targeted?
Arne Slot’s side have been credited with an interest in Michael Olise, but any pursuit of the Frenchman would hinge on talks over a contract extension with Bayern stalling.
A left-footed right winger would probably be the priority if they are seeking a long-term replacement for Mo Salah so there are likely to be more options on the shortlist than just Olise.
There is also a chance that the Reds will consider reinforcements on the left flank. Lyon’s Malick Fofana is known to be a player who is greatly admired by the recruitment team. Last month, the Belgian confirmed interest from the Premier League champions and Chelsea.
