Turning Point USA, the right-wing political group founded by slain activist Charlie Kirk, announced its own Super Bowl halftime show to compete with the big-game broadcast on NBC.
The wording of its survey on a website to gauge the tastes of its would-be audience pretty much reveals the intent behind its alternative venture.
“Classic Rock” and “Worship” are among the options, but the first thing listed is “Anything in English.” Subtle.

Many conservatives, including President Donald Trump and allies, have been apoplectic over the selection of Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny, who plans to do his show in Spanish and has been critical of the president. (The game is also on Spanish-language channel Telemundo.)

The rapper’s appearance also drove Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to escalate rhetoric about Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents swarming the Feb. 8 game in Santa Clara, California, to apprehend Bad Bunny fans who are in the country illegally.

The Turning Point USA website’s details on “The All-American Halftime Show: Celebrating Faith, Family & Freedom” are scant. The group did not immediately respond to a HuffPost request for more info.
