CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The Carolina Panthers will look to stay undefeated at home in 2025 when they host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon.
When they take on the Cowboys, the Panthers will be doing so in style ... wearing a uniform combo they never have before.
For the first time, Carolina will wear black helmets with blue jerseys, blue pants and blue socks. The Panthers have worn similar combinations before, but not this exact one.
Carolina wore the black helmets with blue jerseys and blue pants against Atlanta in 2024, but wore black socks that game. The team has worn blue jerseys, blue pants and blue socks before -- including against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving in 2015 -- but that was with silver helmets.
The Panthers posted a video of the new fit Friday with the caption “Black and blue debut.”
In the video, the socks, pants and jersey pop out of a duffle bag, followed by the team’s signature silver helmets. Right when it looks like they are going to wear the silver lids, rookie safety Lathan Ransom walks up, says “This ain’t supposed to be here,” and replaces the silver helmet with the Panthers’ black one.
Fans in the Instagram comments seemed excited to see the uniforms on the field, with many replying with fire emojis.
“My favorite combo they were so 🔥🔥🔥 last year,” one fan commented.
“😮💨🔥 LETS GET IT !” another wrote.
The Panthers have already worn their blue jerseys with black helmets once in 2025, and that game resulted in a 30-0 blowout win over the rival Falcons.
Carolina enters Sunday’s game fresh off a comeback win over the Miami Dolphins. With wins over Atlanta and Miami, the Panthers sit at 2-0 at home this season, and 2-3 overall. Dallas comes into Charlotte with a 2-2-1 record.
The Cowboys were three-point favorites as of Friday afternoon, according to FanDuel.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on FOX.
