Juventus could explore a loan move for Kobbie Mainoo in January, as Manchester United may not agree to a sale in the winter window.
According to Juve-Live, Juventus ponder a loan approach to sign Kobbie Mainoo in January. The midfielder is unhappy at Manchester United due to a lack of minutes in a World Cup year, as the Red Devils are not showing any interest in a permanent sale ahead of the winter window.
Kobbie Mainoo was a key topic of discussion during the latter stages of the summer window, as the midfielder sought to leave on loan. There was a request from the player to seek a temporary exit due to a lack of a clearly defined role under Ruben Amorim and a lack of minutes.
The midfielder ended up staying as Manchester United had no intention of letting him leave, although his situation with regular game time has not changed since. There’s a possibility that Mainoo could force an exit if contract talks fail, but now there’s a distinct possibility of a loan exit in January.
A host of top teams are interested in the midfielder, mostly on a permanent deal, including Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid. However, there are many English rivals like Chelsea keen to add the 20-year-old Manchester United whizkid to their team in the near future.
Napoli are also interested, as they were when Mainoo asked to depart on a temporary move. Antonio Conte is a big fan of the player, although they are not the only Italian side in the hunt, as Juventus now ponder a potential loan appeal ahead of the January window.
Juventus ponder Kobbie Mainoo move
Juventus have identified central midfield as a problem area they would like solutions for ahead of the January window. There are far fewer options in the market to strengthen their ranks in terms of quality, as the likes of Teun Koopmeiners have not worked out as per how they would have wanted.
Hence, there’s the possibility of an approach for Mainoo, although Manchester United might only consider a loan. The report does state the Red Devils might sanction a deal with a buy option or obligation if the offer meets their valuation of the 20-year-old whizkid.
