Manchester United midfielder Casemiro delivered a top-class performance during Brazil’s 5-0 friendly rout of South Korea at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
The 33-year-old has had a mixed start to the campaign with the Red Devils. He started to find his form before receiving a red card against Chelsea at home.
Casemiro returned to the XI last weekend as the Red Devils picked up a 2-0 win over Sunderland.
The midfielder is presently on international duty. He played the full 90 minutes for the Selecao this afternoon as they secured a thumping 5-0 win over South Korea.
Casemiro had 117 touches while completing the most passes (98). He also made eight recoveries, while winning 100 percent of his tackles and aerial duels attempted.
The Brazilian capped his performance with an assist for Rodrygo’s first goal.
It was a perfect showing from Casemiro with the captain’s armband. The Selecao will return to action with another friendly against Japan at the Ajinomoto Stadium on Tuesday.
Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti will no doubt heavily rotate his starting line-up for the friendly, and Casemiro is likely to be given a breather on the bench next week.
United returned to winning ways against the Black Cats before the international break, but they face a huge challenge against Liverpool in the league later this month.
The Red Devils are winless at Anfield since 2016 when Wayne Rooney scored the only goal of the game.
Despite Liverpool’s poor form with three straight losses, United will go into the contest as underdogs.
Casemiro has been in-and-out of the starting plans of manager Ruben Amorim. With the need for more mobility, Manuel Ugarte could get the nod over him in the number six role.
