“Am I Playing Through Them?”: Frustrated, Shedeur Sanders receives Tough Love by Deion After…

Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders is undergoing the initial reality check in the NFL. Following the performances of other rookie quarterbacks, such as Dillon Gabriel, who made headlines with confident starts, Sanders revealed his frustration with his slow development. The 22-year-old quarterback confessed in aNewsweek report on October 9 that he has been waiting for the breakout moment, making him patient.

“Am I playing through them?” Sanders said. “I’m just as excited as them every time they get out there and run a route and everything.”

This comment was made during one of the practice sessions, showcasing a combination of motivation and frustration. For a player who came into the league with great expectations following his highly regarded college career with Colorado, the sight of other rookies receiving opportunities before him has undoubtedly become an issue.

Head coach Deion Sanders didn’t let his son’s frustration slide. When Shedeur Sanders appeared visibly dejected after a tough stretch and limited playing time, Coach Prime stepped in not with criticism, but with conviction. His message on Instagram came through loud and clear:“You’re not a loser, you’re a WINNER! Let’s go baby.”

Why are u so worried, why do wanna give up. Champions & winners don't give up & they don't give in. They apply Pressure on the opposition & look the enemy in the eyes & tell them let's do this! You're not a loser, you're a WINNER! Let’s go baby. #CoachPrime

The timing of that message is critical. The Browns are now ranked 26th in overall offense, and Shedeur has accrued an average of 182 passing yards in the three games with a completion rate of 59.8 percent and two scores. By comparison, the rookie, Dillon Gabriel, has already impressed with four touchdowns and no interceptions within only two games.

This is not the first time Deion has met with trouble with composure. The total offense rating of the Browns has dropped to 26. Shedeur has, in three games, counted 182 yards per game passing, 59.8 percent completions, and two TDs, more of growing pains than possibility. At the same time, Gabriel has been likened to his performance, having thrown 4 TDs and 0 picks in two matches, and is known for his quickness.

However, Deion states that patience and perseverance will define Shedeur’s career, even before the initial statistics are drawn. He possesses everything he desires, Deion said.
