Packers host ‘Salute to Service’ flag football tournament

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - As part of the Green Bay Packers “Salute to Service” efforts, the team hosted a flag football tournament on Friday, featuring several branches of the military.

This is the eighth year of the event. Service members participating in a “Round Robin” match-up giving them the chance to have a little friendly competition.

“It’s all about showing our appreciation for these men and women, who are serving for our country, or have served our country, and it’s a fun environment, we’re in the shadows of Lambeau Field,” said Ryan Fencl, Packers Football Outreach Manager. “And being out here playing football on a weekend where they’re team will be playing on Sunday is a real cool environment and we’re excited to have all these men and woman out here today.”

The winning team’s morale fund will receive a $2,500 donation with the runner up getting $1,500. All other teams will receive $500 each.

The donations funded by the NFL’s 2025 Salute to Service team program grant.
