49ers lose another star to injury

Last season, only one season after making the Super Bowl, the San Francisco 49ers missed the playoffs after being completely decimated by injuries. The 49ers were hopeful for a cleaner bill of health and to get back to the top of the mountain this year, hopefully leaving with a victory this time.

However, while the Niners are 4-1 this season, they’ve still been onset by a staggering amount of injuries. Now, the Niners have lost more stars, as it’s been officially announced that two of their most important offensive pieces are out for this weekend’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to one prominent league insider.

“49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) has been ruled out again, as has WR Ricky Pearsall. Mac Jones (oblique, knee) is the likely starting option, though he’s listed as questionable,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Friday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“49ers’ injury list looking like a novel—Mac Jones might start hurt, but at this point, he’s the last man standing,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“They might as well name Mac Jones the starter for the rest of the season,” someone else added.

“Tough break for Purdy and Pearsall, but Mac Jones has stepped up big time. The 49ers’ depth is being tested early this season—hoping for a strong showing despite the injuries,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Niners can keep the positive momentum rolling.
