Myles Garrett sends message to Steelers fans ahead of Browns game: ‘Hate fuels me’

Cleveland Browns superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett knows he is not well liked in Pittsburgh. Steelers fans have let Garrett hear it for years, and on Friday, he went to X to let them know that he hears it all.

Garrett posted a clip of Steelers fans chanting ‘(expletive) Myles Garrett’ from training camp, while saying the hate from the crowd fuels him.

“For sure, and I love it,” Garrett said of the jeers he gets. “That kind of stuff fuels me. I love the chants. I love the talk. That’s part of this game. That’s what makes this game special."

Garrett said the ‘hate fuels me’ when asked about it in Pittsburgh. For the first time in a Steelers uniform, Garrett will see Aaron Rodgers across from him. He wants to add Rodgers to his illustrious quarterback graveyard.

“He’s a great one. He probably will get propped up a little higher than some of the others. It’d be an honor to put him in the graveyard,” Garrett said. “Definitely a lot of respect for what he’s done in his career. He’s special.”

All week, the Steelers tackles have said they will be focussed on playing their game, despite the obvious challenge from a player of Garrett’s caliber. Right tackle Troy Fautanu reiterated that on Friday.

“You see a guy like that going against T.J. a lot. I just gotta play my game. That’s how I look at it. You have so much respect for that guy and what he’s done. Just playing my game, doing the techniques I know and trust,” Fautanu said.

Garrett wrecked the matchup when the two teams faced off in Cleveland a year ago, but he was quieter in their Pittsburgh clash.

Either way, Garrett and the Browns hope to disrupt the Steelers offense that has generally been efficient overall through four games.
