Thursday night marked the final night in a 32-year-old tradition of dunking San Francisco volunteers into the pool at the Phoenix Hotel in the Tenderloin.
The annual event for the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation’s neighborhood youth after-school program. Since 1993, people have bid money for the privilege of tossing prominent local figures into the courtyard’s pool, including former San Francisco 49ers star Roger Craig and the late Robin Williams.
