Manchester United Women will aim to return to winning ways in the Women’s Super League on Sunday, when they face Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The fixture is a historic one for Everton Women, as it marks their first-ever game at the club’s new home ground.
United fought from a one-goal deficit to secure a 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Leigh Sports Village in their last league fixture.
Everton also played a 1-1 draw at Leicester City to claim their first point on the road this season.
Match preview
United defeated Norwegian side Valerenga 1-0 in the Women’s Champions League on Wednesday and will hope to build on that momentum against the Toffees.
United are one of the unbeaten sides in the division and boast the second-best attack, as well as the best defence, in the division so far.
By contrast, Everton have started the season poorly, recording just one win in five league games. They have scored just six goals and conceded seven.
Given the Toffees’ poor form, United are expected to get a victory in this clash and continue their brilliant start to the campaign.
Head-to-head
United have enjoyed near-total dominance over Everton, winning 16, drawing twice and losing once in their previous encounters.
Team news
For Man United, there is optimism that Leah Galton will return to the squad for the first time this season. At the same time, Celin Bizet Donnum is being assessed after missing the victory over Valerenga.
Everton will be without captain Megan Finnigan and Katja Snoeijs, but coach Brian Sorensen has confirmed the return of Kelly Gago from injury.
Where to watch
The encounter will be shown live on Sky Sports, and fans can also follow it through live radio commentary on ManUtd.com and in the United App.
