With the NFL trade deadline less than a month away now, the Pittsburgh Steelers and other teams around the NFL will have to start considering who they want to trade for. There have already been a few trades over the past few days, with more expected leading up to the beginning of November.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox recently put together a 2025 NFL trade big board entering Week 6, noting that the Steelers could be a potential suitor in a deal for Chris Olave of the New Orleans Saints. However, he had his projected trade value as a 2026 conditional first-round pick.
"If the Saints are looking to cash in veteran talent as part of their rebuild, wideout Chris Olave would likely be their top trade chip. The 25-year-old has two 1,000-yard seasons on his resume and appears to again be healthy after injuries limited him to eight games in 2024," he wrote.

Unless the Steelers believe they have an opportunity to win a Super Bowl this year, moving on from a first-round pick might be tough to justify. However, if they were to do so, the idea of a player like Olave being the player they trade for makes sense, considering he’s posted over 1,000 yards in both of the seasons he’s been healthy during his young career.
According to a recent report from Nick Underhill of NewOrleansFootball.com, the Saints are believed to be willing to move on from a few of their veteran players.
Olave might not be considered someone they want to trade just yet at 25 years old, but given the team won’t have an opportunity to compete for the foreseeable future, getting back a first-round pick for him would be tough to pass up.
"There are teams interested in some of the Saints’ veteran players and they’ll be watching to see who becomes available in the coming weeks, league sources tell me. There’s a feeling around the league that New Orleans will be open to hearing offers in the coming weeks," he posted on X.
