The New York Giants played their best game of the season on “Thursday Night Football.” In his third career start, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart threw for 195 yards and one touchdown and added another 58 yards and one touchdown on the ground in a 34-17 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Dart did take a hit in the third quarter that caused some concern. The former Ole Miss standout had to exit the game for a concussion evaluation in the medical tent on the sideline.
While Dart was having his evaluation, backup quarterback Russell Wilson threw an incomplete pass on third down from the Philadelphia 42-yard line. Wilson was quickly booed off the field by the crowd of 81,564 at MetLife Stadium.
Prime Video broadcast cameras showed Giants head coach Brian Daboll having a heated discussion with a team doctor before the punting unit came onto the field on 4th-and-9. Daboll also opened up the medical tent to look inside.
Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Daboll could face disciplinary action for his behavior while Dart was having his evaluation.
“The league office likely will agree,” Florio wrote of Daboll admitting he was in the wrong. “Whether or not Daboll is disciplined for interfering in the evaluation process remains to be seen. At a minimum, expect a memo to be issued - as soon as tomorrow - to all teams with a clear reminder that no one should approach or enter the blue tent during an evaluation.”
Following the game, Daboll told the media that he apologized to the team doctor. He panicked because he was considering going for it on fourth down if Dart could return in time.
"If you've ever been on an NFL sideline, there's a lot of emotions," Daboll said, via Pro Football Talk. “There's a lot of emotions. And I certainly am an emotional guy. I apologized directly to our team physician… But I wanted the process - like, we were getting ready to go for it on a potential fourth down.
“I would have burned a timeout if he could have came out there. So I was asking how long is it gonna take?”
Dart eventually returned in the fourth quarter. With the win, the Giants improved to 2-4.
New York will next travel to play the Denver Broncos on Oct. 19.
