"Closing": Vinicius Jr&Bruno Guimaraes send message to United star who won 100% tackles on Int'l duty

Brazil registered a convincing 5-0 win over South Korea in an international friendly on Friday.

Estevao Willian and Rodrygo were the stand-out performers with two goals apiece.

However, Manchester United duo Casemiro and Matheus Cunha were equally impressive at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

The duo registered assists for Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior, respectively, during the 5-0 rout.

Shortly after the game, Cunha expressed his delight playing in a ‘gigantic team’ and talked up his assist for Real Madrid’s Vinicius.

He posted on Instagram: “I’m so happy, going forward in a gigantic team heyyy. Come on Brazil, I’m proud of you! Are you enjoying it in @vinijr.”

Vinicius quickly responded with ‘Voce entende disso’ which translates to ‘Do you understand that’.

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, who also grabbed an assist against South Korea, commented ‘Fechamento’, which means ‘closing’.

Cunha was tasked with leading the line by Brazil’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti. He had a solid outing and eventually got his reward with an assist for Vinicius.

Overall, Cunha had a passing accuracy of 83 percent, completing 100 percent of his long balls.

The Red Devils star created three key chances yesterday. He also won four duels and made three recoveries while winning 100 percent of his tackles (2/2).

It was not the perfect showing from the 26-year-old, but it should provide some much-needed boost in confidence after a rough start to his United career.

Cunha had a lively beginning with the Red Devils before an untimely hamstring injury. Since his return, he has been in and out of manager Ruben Amorim’s starting plans.

The former Wolves man has yet to provide a goal or an assist for United since his summer arrival. He will be determined to end the run after the international break.

Cunha may have to wait to make the starting XI again, given Mason Mount capitalised on his recent outing against Sunderland. He scored an early goal in the 2-0 win.
