Diego Costa had a massive impact in the Premier League with his goals for Chelsea only half of what made the man coined 'King S***house' by fans so memorable.

The Brazil-born Spanish international was a wild man of football who loved to throw his weight about on the pitch and wind up opponents and rival fans with all sorts of antics. But it turns out the ex-striker was also a party animal off it.

While lifting two Premier League titles and a League Cup during his time in London, the maverick - who turned 37 on Tuesday, October 7 - also turned the conservatory of his Surrey mansion into a nightclub so he could carry on raving and misbehaving whenever he took the fancy.

The multimillionaire predictably didn't hold back when splurging on the club, as he decked it out with a state-of-the-art sound system and top of the range lighting equipment.

And, as if that wasn't mad enough, he ordered it to be dismantled brick-by-brick and shipped over to Madrid so he could rebuild the structure exactly as it was after he was sold to Atletico.

Costa, who spent three entertaining years at Stamford Bridge, isn't the only footy star to have installed a nightclub in his house. Former Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri built one in his £6m Cheshire home after he signed for Manchester City, while Chelsea new boy Raheem Sterling did the same did the same a few years ago.

The Blues won two titles in three seasons with Costa leading the line, though he left the club abruptly after falling out with Antonio Conte in 2017 by pushing for a move to Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian mid-way through the campaign after they offered the striker a mammoth wage to jump ship.

After being informed he wasn't part of the Italian's plans for the upcoming season, Costa went AWOL and flew to Brazil. Over the next few months he was pictured driving rally cars and quad-bikes and partying like his life depended on it as he waited for his future to be sorted.

Chelsea eventually agreed to sell Costa back to former club Atletico, though the move didn't go through until January 2018, despite the fact the Blues had already bought his replacement - Alvaro Morata.

Throughout his time in English football, Costa proved himself a master of the dark arts, for which he was condemned and lauded in equal measure. He constantly clashed with opponents, throwing his weight around before happily throwing his body to the floor in glorious cynicism.

Though his goals and relentless tenacity proved invaluable for Chelsea, who have looked almost completely impotent up front since he left. Costa was never the same either after leaving west London, which makes their sudden break-up seem all the more perplexing in hindsight.
