Bill Simmons Has Brutal Admission About D’Angelo Russell

D’Angelo Russell is just days away from starting his first season with the Dallas Mavericks, and he’s hoping to ignite the fanbase and remind the rest of the league what he can do.

A lot of people feel that Russell will be a great fit in Dallas, while others think he will come up short.

Speaking about Russell, Bill Simmons compared him to a friend who sticks around for too long and begins to rub you the wrong way.

“He’s your buddy that comes to visit and it’s really great when he is only there for one day and by day six you’re like, ah, I’m ready for him to leave. That’s D-Lo,” Simmons said of Russell.

Last season, Russell split his time between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets.

Between both teams, he averaged 12.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.1 assists on 39.0 percent from the field.

For the last few years, critics have claimed that Russell is hot and cold, sometimes producing a lot for his team and then battling inconsistency.

There was a time when Lakers fans were elated with what Russell was doing on the court, but it didn’t last, and soon they were calling on the front office to cut him loose.

The Mavericks acquired Russell in the summer, mostly because they just lost Kyrie Irving to a serious injury.

They want someone who can carry his load and have an offensive impact while handling the ball.

Now, many people wonder what will happen to Russell when Irving comes back.

The Mavericks might be pleased with him and keep him on the roster, or they could move him to yet another team.

It all depends on how well he is playing and the impression he has left on the fans and front office.
