Antonio Rudiger is in the final year of his contract at Real Madrid and, as things stand, there have been no negotiations over an extension.
The German defender is currently focused on recovering from an injury he sustained earlier this season, that has sidelined him until December.
While he works on his rehabilitation, rumours of a possible departure are starting to gain weight, given his age, contract situation, as well as recurring fitness issues.
Renewal unlikely
Indeed, according to Fichajes, as things stand, Real Madrid do not plan to offer a contract extension to Rudiger. His continuity depends on a mutual decision, determined by his performance and increasing physical concerns.
There is talk of a “gentleman’s agreement” between the defender and the club. In the coming months, both parties will evaluate whether it is appropriate to renew his contract or to part ways.

However, a departure as a free agent seems the likeliest outcome for the German international at the moment.
Destination Saudi Arabia?
The report further states that Saudi Arabia has emerged as a possible destination for Rudiger.
Due to his great reputation and high profile, several clubs from the Saudi Pro League already have him on their radar.
Rudiger is at the top of the list of targets for multiple teams from the Middle Eastern nation, as they seek to raise their competitive level through high-profile signings.
Saudi Arabia’s interest in the Real Madrid veteran is not new as they have followed his progress over recent seasons, and he could end up securing a lucrative contract next summer.
For now, though, Rudiger is currently prioritising his recovery.
