Seamus Coleman is back in the Ireland starting XI as manager Heimir Hallgrimsson named his side to face Portugal at the Jose Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon.
The former captain will join current skipper Nathan Collins in the defence, in what could be a five-man formation out of possession with Jake O'Brien and Dara O'Shea also starting, while Ryan Manning should fill a left-sided position.
Jayson Molumby and Festy Ebosele have also been named in the team for tonight's World Cup qualifier as Ireland look to kick-start their campaign following a poor showing in September.
Molumby will partner Josh Cullen in the middle of the park, while Ebosele and Chiedozie Ogbene will add energy and width, moving between midfield and attack.
Evan Ferguson will lead the line in attack, while, CaoimhĂn Kelleher, as expected, continues in goal.
