AFC Bournemouth currently sit fourth in the Premier League table after seven matches, losing only one league match this season, their opening game to Liverpool 4-2.

Since their defeat at Anfield on the opening night of the 2025/26 season, Andoni Iraola’s men have won four of their last six league matches this campaign. Their excellent form puts the Cherries fourth, level on points with third-place Tottenham Hotspur.

Iraola was recently linked with being on a three-man shortlist to replace Ruben Amorim, which also saw Gareth Southgate and Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner as the other two on the list.

The Cherries managing director Pinto is “quite relaxed” about the situation, despite links to Old Trafford. He said: “In Bournemouth, from the receptionist to the owner, we want Andoni Iraola to stay.” He told talkSPORT.

“We will do our best to keep him and I think Andoni is happy in Bournemouth, like you guys know every time he jumps in the press conference.”

With a bright start to the season seeing the club sit so high up in the table, they will be targeting a European spot at the end of the season. Last campaign, the club finished ninth in the Premier League, nine points away from a Europa Conference League spot.

Despite key players like Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi departing the South Coast club in the summer, the team have been able to recruit and build on their personnel losses and kick on even stronger this campaign.

Andoni Iraola has received plenty of plaudits for his team’s brilliant performances so far this season, but United’s owners will be able to get an even better look on December 13th. The Cherries visit Old Trafford on that date, looking to replicate their impressive 3-0 win against United last season away from home.
