Disney hikes up ticket prices for Disney World and Disneyland

Disney announced Wednesday that it is raising ticket prices for its U.S. theme parks, with new rates taking effect immediately, according to CBS News.

The price increases impact select admissions to both Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Single-day tickets on peak attendance days — including major holidays like New Year’s Eve and Thanksgiving — will now cost up to $199, the highest price currently offered.

For some of the busiest days, such as Nov. 24–29 and Dec. 20–Jan. 3, ticket prices at Disneyland will rise even further, reaching $224, according to Disney’s website.

The increases reflect what the company describes as “growing demand” for park visits during high-traffic periods.

In addition to daily admissions, Disneyland’s Magic Key annual pass program is seeing some increases. While the lowest-priced day ticket remains unchanged at $104, five of the resort’s seven ticket tiers will increase by 3% or less.

The Inspire and Believe Magic Key passes — Disneyland’s two most expensive annual pass options — will rise by $150 and $100 respectively.

The Inspire Key will now cost $1,899, and the Believe Key will be priced at $1,474. Disney said the Enchant and Imagine passes will not see price changes.

At Walt Disney World, ticket prices through October 2026 remain steady at both the lowest and highest tiers.

In a statement, Disney emphasized its commitment to accessibility and guest experience.

“Disney Parks offer a full day of experiences each day, with ticket, hotel and dining options designed to suit a wide range of needs and budgets for all who visit. Our commitment to creating magical experiences for everyone remains at the heart of what we do — and that will never change,” the company said.

Disney’s recent theme park ticket price increases mark the end of an unusually long pause on admission hikes at Walt Disney World — the longest in years, according to Disney Tourist Blog.

Before the latest round of changes, the last significant increase in regular park ticket prices at the Florida resort took effect on Dec. 8, 2022. That means Disney went 445 days without raising ticket prices — a notable departure from its usual pricing cadence.

Factoring in the effective date of the most recent hikes, which were announced earlier this year but only implemented this fall, the gap stretches to 755 days.

Two key factors contributed to the extended break from raising base admission costs.

First, Disney had already implemented two separate increases in 2022 — one in February and another in December. Combined with earlier hikes, that two-year stretch from 2021 to 2022 saw the steepest overall rise in ticket prices on record.

The period coincided with the height of “revenge travel,” as pent-up consumer demand pushed attendance and spending higher following the pandemic.

Disney capitalized on that momentum, though the company now appears to be recalibrating amid signs of more cautious spending behavior.

Second, the cost of Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi-Pass — a paid skip-the-line service — also rose throughout 2022 and 2023.

While technically separate from base admission and considered optional, the add-on is widely purchased by guests, effectively acting as an indirect increase to the overall cost of a visit.

“Disney Parks offer a full day of experiences each day, with ticket, hotel and dining options designed to suit a wide range of needs and budgets for all who visit,” Disney officials said in a statement.

“Our commitment to creating magical experiences for everyone remains at the heart of what we do — and that will never change."
