Pronouncing Emeka Egbuka’s Name

Pronouncing Emeka Egbuka’s Name

October 11th, 2025

Say his name!

OK, recently foot-rubbing former Bucs tight end Rob Gronkowski was on that dumb FOX NFL pregame show and in a segment where the laugh track desk of co-hosts spoke about sensational Bucs rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka, Gronk totally butchered Egbuka’s name.

Gronk has been clowned ever since for that.

So it appears Gronk did a video with the Bucs where Egbuka also appeared and Egbuka taught Gronk how to pronounce his name correctly. Gronk also explained why he destroyed Egbuka’s last name so badly.

So please view the video below. Egbuka’s name is actually easier to pronounce after Egbuka himself eased Gronk through it.

The way Egbuka has made NFL history, we all should be able to pronounce his name. Egbuka became the first player in NFL history with 25 or more catches, at least 400 receiving yards and five touchdown catches in his first five games.

(Joe has to admit he says ‘Egbuka’ phonetically to himself each time he types his last name so that Joe spells his name correctly. By doing that however, Joe has a habit of pronouncing Eguka’s name incorrectly. But hey, at least it’s spelled right!)
