Real Madrid midfielder Arda Güler starred in Tükiye’s brilliant 6-1 win over Bulgaria in their World Cup Qualifiers match at Vasil Levski National Stadium on Saturday night.
Güler registered a goal and two assists in a rampant performance from the team that was on the receiving end of a huge loss just a few weeks ago, against Spain.
Güler opened the scoring for Türkiye with a great finish after a neat first touch that got him away from his marker. In the second half, he turned provider with a good pass to Kenan Yildiz, who slotted the ball into the net for Türkiye’s third.
In one of his last involvements in the game, the Real Madrid star assisted Zeki Çelik’s goal — which was Türkiye’s fifth of the night — with a well-taken corner.
Güler was the creative hub for his national team, registering 62 touches, four key passes, 40 passes with a 90% accuracy.
Türkiye will now rest and prepare for their clash on Tuesday against Georgia, who lost 2-0 to Spain on the night.
