The Seattle Seahawks’ ailing secondary received some more bad news less than 24 hours before Sunday’s road matchup with the 4-1 Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Seahawks (3-2 record) downgraded cornerback Riq Woolen (concussion) from doubtful to out on Saturday. Cornerback Devon Witherspoon (knee) and safety Julian Love (hamstring) are also doubtful against Jacksonville.
Seattle ruled out outside linebacker Derick Hall (oblique) and offensive lineman Josh Jones (ankle) on Friday.
Woolen suffered a concussion in last week’s 38-35 loss to Tampa Bay. Seattle was also without Witherspoon and Love while allowing a season-worst 370 passing yards to the Buccaneers.
The fourth-year pro has 17 tackles and one pass defended in five games this season. He logged at least 90% of team’s defensive snaps in each game before his early exit against Tampa Bay, per Pro Football Reference.
With Woolen out and key defensive backs Witherspoon and Love doubtful, Seattle elevated veteran cornerback Shaquill Griffin and safety Jerrick Reed II from the practice squad.
Griffin, a third-round pick by the Seahawks in 2017, logged three defensive snaps in his only appearance this season when Seattle beat Pittsburgh in Week 2. The 30-year-old corner returned to Pacific Northwest this year after playing for four teams over the past four seasons.
Reed, a sixth-round pick in 2023, recorded two tackles in his lone game this season as Seattle topped New Orleans in Week 3.
