The Las Vegas Aces officially became a WNBA dynasty after beating the Phoenix Mercury in the 2025 WNBA Finals. Completing a 4-0 sweep, the Aces won their third title in four seasons. That is an incredible achievement, and one that has been built around the greatness of superstar A’ja Wilson.
Wilson’s fans have been putting her in the GOAT conversation for a while now, and the 2025 season makes her case impossible to dispute. A’ja was Finals MVP for the second time in her career as the Aces won it all, but that’s just the icing on the cake. Her accomplishments during this campaign are something no WNBA or NBA player has ever achieved before.

Wilson’s achievements this season are incredible. She was awarded her 4th MVP award this season, while also winning her 3rd DPOY award. For the second consecutive year, A’ja also led the W in scoring, averaging 23.4 points per game. Adding a championship and Finals MVP to these achievements means she’s the only one to ever do all this in one year.

Michael Jordan won the MVP, DPOY, and scoring title in the same year but didn’t win the NBA title. Hakeem Olajuwon managed DPOY, MVP, and Finals MVP, but didn’t lead the league in scoring. This puts into context just how historic Wilson’s 2025 campaign was, and she deserves all the GOAT shouts it will lead to.
