Treylon Burks was part of one of the biggest trades in the NFL in recent years, but the former Tennessee Titans wide receiver is trying to salvage his career from becoming just the answer to a trivia question.
Burks, who is now a free agent, will visit with the Denver Broncos next week when the team comes back from London. The 25-year-old suffered a fractured collarbone in training camp this summer and was waived a few days later. He was waived again for good last week to become a free agent. The info of the Broncos‘ interest in Burks comes from NFL Network, which also reports that other visits will likely take place for the pass catcher.

Burks has played in the NFL across three years, all with the Titans after they took him with the 18th pick in 2022. The team got that selection by trading AJ Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles. So far, he’s gotten 27 games of action where he’s caught 53 passes for 699 yards and one touchdown. He’s dealt with a lot of injuries, including that collarbone issue that ended his time in Nashville. He is also coming back from a torn ACL, which limited his 2024 season to five games.
Though Sean Payton had just retired, Burks went one pick before the Saints were on the clock, so New Orleans and the current Broncos coach’s friends may have a pretty good report on the wideout going back to his Arkansas days. Betting low on a high upside guy with first round potential could be an interesting use of a spot by Denver. Courtland Sutton is Bo Nix’s favorite target, but any given week, any of Marvin Mims Jr., Troy Franklin and eventually Pat Bryant could be that No. 2. Adding more skill position talent to the offense was one of the goals for the team, who signed Evan Engram and J.K. Dobbins and drafted RJ Harvey.
The Broncos will look to move to 4-2 on the season Sunday morning against the New York Jets.
