Reports: Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett expected to start vs. Colts

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett is expected to start in place of Kyler Murray for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said the Cardinals are leaving the door for Murray to play on Sunday but are preparing for Brissett to start.

Murray was ruled questionable on Friday with a foot issue. Rapoport reported on Saturday that Murray’s injury is a mid-foot sprain and that there’s a possibility he could be out beyond the Colts game.

The Cardinals signed quarterback Kedon Slovis on Saturday from the practice squad to add to the depth of the quarterback room.

Brissett has made 53 career starts across 10 seasons with the New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders, throwing for 11,400 yards and 53 touchdowns.
