Chargers Hit With Troubling Quentin Johnston Injury News

The Los Angeles Chargers are set to take on the Miami Dolphins in an important bounce-back matchup. After three straight wins, the team has dropped their last two matchups. To make matters worse, the team may be without star receiver Quentin Jonhston.

Johnston has been dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him limited in practice through the week. Being limited isn’t always the worst thing, but it appears that he is trending towards not being able to suit up.

According to NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Johnston is trending towards not playing due to his hamstring injury. This is a huge hit to an already battered Chargers team.

Los Angeles already lost Najee Harris to a season-ending Achilles tear, and the team had to place rookie Omarion Hampton on IR due to an ankle injury. The team elevated Nyheim Miller-Hines for the game, and he joins Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal as the remaining available running backs.

Johnston is just another solid playmaker who would severely dampen the Chargers’ offense if he remains out. He has 377 yards and four touchdowns through five games thus far.

Johnston has also stepped up in a big way, with Ladd McConkey having more of a down year. McConkey has 213 yards and one touchdown through five games.

The Chargers are currently 3-2 on the season and have the same record as the Denver Broncos. With the race for the AFC West crown ongoing, Los Angeles needs to find a way to start winning games.

Los Angeles should have an easier time taking on a Miami Dolphins team that is currently 1-4, but the Dolphins can be unpredictable at times. Also, the injuries on the Chargers roster will make their win a bit more difficult.

Johnston has yet to be ruled out, but the signs are pointing to him missing the Week 6 matchup against the Dolphins.
