Chelsea could get the chance to sign Malick Fofana from Lyon next year after showing an interest in the winger during the summer.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea made an enquiry for Fofana in June.
In the end, the Blues went on to sign Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho to strengthen the left-wing position, but Fofana could still be an option for them in 2026.
However, the 20-year-old does not appear to be a priority for Chelsea, with two other attackers seemingly above him on their shortlist.

Chelsea prefer Morgan Rogers and Kenan Yildiz over Malick Fofana
During the last transfer window, Chelsea were also interested in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz.
It was even claimed that Chelsea made an unsuccessful offer for Yildiz, who has been a vital player for Juventus this season.
The Daily Briefing has claimed that the Conference League holders are still keen on the duo and have made them bigger priorities than Fofana.

Their report states that Chelsea have been contacted over a potential deal for Fofana, but it does not look like he is their focus right now.
Signing Fofana is likely to be a much easier task than recruiting Yildiz. Juventus will not want to lose the youngster, while it is thought that Manchester United are ready to pay £78m for Yildiz.

What Malick Fofana recently revealed about Chelsea
Chelsea’s past interest in Fofana has been confirmed, with the player himself revealing that both the Blues and their Premier League rivals Liverpool looked at him in the summer.
In September, Fofana discussed Chelsea’s and Liverpool’s interest, saying: “There was interest from those two clubs, but ultimately it wasn’t concrete enough.”
After signing Garnacho and Gittens, it would be very surprising if Chelsea returned for Fofana. They are set in both wide positions, with Geovany Quenda set to arrive at Stamford Bridge next year to compete with Estevao Willian and Pedro Neto on the right.
Unless Chelsea sell a winger, they do not need to sign another one.
