Exclusive: Everton considering move to sign Premier League striker in January but there's one…

Everton are making plans for the January transfer window.

It feels as though the summer transfer window has only just closed, but Everton now have one eye on the January transfer window.

The Toffees have just over 11 weeks until the window reopens, and David Moyes is keen on adding another striker to his ranks.

Thierno Barry and Beto are struggling at the moment, so the Scotsman is seriously considering signing a Premier League striker, according to our exclusive information from Graeme Bailey.

Everton considering Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee

Speaking exclusively to Everton News, Graeme Bailey confirmed that Moyes is interested in Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee, however, there is a potential stumbling block in any forthcoming deal.

“Joshua Zirkzee needs to move, that has been made clear to him by Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman,” Bailey explained.

“If he wants to go to the World Cup, he needs to be playing. But the thing with Zirkzee is, that he needs to be playing – there is interest from across Europe and some in England – Everton are one of those.

“It would be a consideration for him, but can Everton guarantee him the football he would want? Not sure they could or would.”

Zirkzee hasn’t started a single game for Manchester United this season and has only played 74 minutes off the bench.

Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman has admitted that he won’t be considered for the national team along with Bryan Brobbey unless his game time changes.

“I don’t think they’re playing at all,” Koeman told Voetbal Primeur. “If they eventually play more, they’ll remain options. But we’re also looking beyond that.”

So, if Zirkzee wants to get into the Netherlands squad ahead of the World Cup in the United States next summer, he will have to leave Old Trafford this winter.
